My Philosophy-"Whatever you are, be a good one." Abraham Lincoln that’s my Philosophy. I want to be good at what I do, I may not be good at everything but no one is. I want to be able to help people out and have a luxuries life for my family and me. I want to stay true to my friends and family Robert Brault once said "Worse than telling a lie is spending your whole life staying true to a lie." And I don’t want to live a lying life. As I grow old I want to be able to spread my wisdom with the younger generation "In youth we learn; in age we understand. “by Austrian novelist, Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach,” just like my elderly friends taught me there life lessons and the best things about there lives. I like to understand what people have gone though and understand what they liked about life. A Philosophy will change as you grow up and people will think differently, but for now my Philosophy is to help and teach the younger generation when I grow older.

Artist Statement-My philosophy is that the old has a major effect on the new. Like when we learn from teachers there giving us insight in to the knowledge they want to share and they learned it from the generation before them. What we do nowadays we build no the old teaching with the new stuff we learn and find out all the time, in this way we use the old has a major effect on the new because we are using concepts that were come up with by people a few generations before them. We would have never settled in cities if people never learn from there elders. “Old age is like everything else. To make a success of it, you’ve got to start young” by Theodore Roosevelt, what he’s saying is to get success you have to start young but what’s better then learning from people who have done all the right and wrong choices in life.

1The Pokémon- stands for how old things can stay around for a while and keep 2improving and being worked on and improved. Represents my childhood.

3supersmashbros- shows how the old can keep coming around and being used. Represents my childhood of playing games.

4The logos of big company’s-such as skull candy, alienware, mac and Nintendo show 5new things being creator and the cut up ones stand for the all the company’s failing that use old methods. Every day thing that are used

6The guns symbolize war and the fighting between people. Happens everyday and has a toll that hurts mostly anyone that has a major part with guns.

7The dove- is a symbol of peace and freedom. Wishes for the future that will hopeful come true

8The olive branch is used to symbolize peace.

19 tree-symbolizes growth and expression, trees can grow out and freely.

Collage

The main point which you can see in the middle of picture- a girl hold a packman which come out “ friends forever!” It is show to the girl who is setting on the left of the people. Then you can see a person back who behind the sentence is meaning that friends will always waiting for you, whenever you behind them. Turn left; you can see a bunch of clothes that like a mountain, a girl on the top of it.  The girl is use her finger do a circle around her right eye, and a little person are trying to climb to the top. Those pictures are wanted to present that friends will see your negative parts, but this is not to taunt you, it’s help you to be more mature. The black white picture and a bawl of rise are shows that friends will always stay with you do any stupid thing which is like you just like to see the moon. Make up produces, running car with wine, the picture of two girls making an exploitation, means friends will stay with you to do some crazy things together. On the top of some different color bags, it is a fist. That I want to say friendship is really powerful. Under the fist is some candy outer packing, which looks like the fit is from a blast.  Two old ladies are set on chair which background is a black bad. That is mean, old friend will grow old together; even when they are old, they still can be good friend. And never forget that friends will never forget you, they will always stay with you, and comfort you. The picture that wants to represent this meaning is on the right top corner.

My Philosophy

Life is like a painting, and I am the painter. Sometimes, parents or teachers will tell me what I should do and what I will be in the future. Such like they give me a frame, and give me a specifically topic to paint. I was afraid to against them, and give up everything that I care but they not. Now, I finally know that the future is mine. I should hold my future in my hand, and chose whatever color I want, paint whatever that represent me. Sometimes, I may make mistake, which choose some wrong colors or pick up a wrong topic. But, I still think I should hold my future. Because making mistakes is the good way to find the negative part of me, and have an opportunity to fix it. If my parents think they are keep me away to be a bad painter, they should know that if I don’t make mistake when I am young which I have time to fix it, and others will forgive me because of my age; they will know, I will become really frail. Even they already point out that you should be a oil painter, but I still want to be a muralist. I need to break the frame, prove to them that I am happy what I am doing, and I can do it really well.

Philosophy: My philosophy is to always do things that I love. I believe that in if you do things that you don’t enjoy you won’t be happy. So anything I do I want to be happy with. I know it sounds extremely cliché to say that its important to be happy, but I do think it is. I’m not saying that you can’t be sad, or mad, or feel any other emotions and just be happy, happy, happy all the time. It’s not possible to be perfectly pleased with everything in your life at all times. I think its important to feel other emotions, I believe that it is good for you. You should just focus on your goals and what you love to do, and don’t worry about much else. I can’t bear or understand when people are so frustrated over little things; it makes no sense to me. I think it’s foolish to worry and stress over things so much. I also believe in chance and luck and fate. I think everything happens for a reason. Artist statement: I showed aspects of my identity through my collage in many ways. I used pictures to establish my character and philosophy. The main idea of my philosophy was to do what makes you happy and not worry about too much. I also brought up the idea that I believed in fate, that everything happens for a reason. I took this idea and turned it into a piece of work. In the center of my collage I depicted myself, I formed a skull with quotes that are important to me, these quotes represent how I think or would like to think. On the outside of the head there are various cutout pieces that represent my personification. Since my philosophy is to do what you love I placed images that have to do with things that I enjoy, like, movies, film, and influential people to me. I put stills from the movie The Submarine into my collage because it is one of my favorite independent films, and someday I want to be apart of making an independent film. I also added Lana Del Rey to my collage; she is an influential person to me. She’s an amazing signer and also edits some of her own music videos; this is uncommon for someone as popular as her to do this, and in this way she inspires me. Another individual I am greatly influenced by that is a part of my collage is Tim Burton. I placed a picture of him and some of the characters he created into my work. Tim Burton is one of my favorite people; he is an amazing filmmaker and is so creative. Another character that I added to my collage is Twiggy. Twiggy is influential to me because I love her style, I love the sixties and the fashion back then and when I think of the sixties I think of Twiggy. Overall all of these aspects represent me. Another aspect of my collage is the black and white emotional faces that pop up everywhere. In my philosophy I declared that it is important to be happy but that doesn’t mean you have to be perfectly happy all the time, that’s impossible. To illustrate the importance of emotions in my collage I added these figures. Overall I think my Collage was successful in showing the meaning of my philosophy. This collage project was ultimately fun and helped me to figure out what my philosophy really was, and what I really enjoy.

“BE BRIGHT”- represents staying bright and happy and not letting things bring you down

“TO THE BEACH”- the beach is a happy place

2012- The year we’re in and also so many stories that are behind the four numbers “2012”

Snowboards- I used to snowboard race and my family was all very involved in it and many family trips were involved in that so I have 5 snowboards on the collage to represent everyone in my family and it is something that has and will always bring us all together

Sequence gold bow- Gold and sequence is something me and my older sister both love so its just another thing involving family

Blake Lively- represents a roll model to me in a way and me and my sisters have watched many movies and shows with her in it and we all love her

Chanel perfumes- I where Chanel perfume because my mom got it for me for as a surprise because she heard me say I liked it and I put three on my collage to represent me and my sisters

Skull- My whole family has this weird obsession with skulls we have very cool skull things in our home and its something we are all a part of

Gold wings- I love the color gold and wings I think are my favorite symbol because I interpret wings as freedom and I believe very much in having your own freedom

American Flag- our country

Rosary- I am Christian, I have a mom who very much believes in god, I had my first holy communion and every one in my family where’s a cross

Jersey 18- My favorite number has always been 18 and it is my number for all sports and I think everyone who knows me would know 18 is my favorite number

Cheetah- Cheetah is another family thing, everyone in my family loves cheetah, my older sisters bedroom is cheetah as well as my parent’s room and the rugs on my stairs in my house are cheetah

“CARPE DIEM”- My parents built our house and are so obsessed with our home, they also named our house “carpe diem” and it says it on a lifesaver that is hung in my pool area

Goggles- When I was snowboard racing my sister won a pair of goggles and mine were ruined and I was really upset and she gave me the ones she won and they looked like the ones I put on my collage

Ralph Lauren- I was dressed in ralph Lauren when I was little and sometimes our whole family would match in ralph Lauren clothing

Rope- Represents to keep climbing even when you feel down because bad things happen but you cant let that stop you, you have to keep going and living your life until you get to something new because you cant get anywhere else if you stop climbing

Map- my family and I have done a lot of traveling also with ross I’ve done a lot of traveling and also the part of the map in my collage is Italy and my dad is very much Italian and we went to many places in Europe together

Money- For good fortune and success in life

Heart- I definitely wanted to put love in my collage but I didn’t want to use a <3 so I decided to use an actual human heart. Love is a very complicated but important thing in my life, always has been

“AMORE” “LIEBEN”- my little sister and I always tell people we are Italian and my mom gets mad because we aren’t just Italian we are also German and Irish and English so the two nationalities we are that are in a different language happen to be German and Italian so I wrote love in BOTH those languages

“Be carful who...”- I have had a lot of drama and problems with trusting the right people so I always make sure I have saying and reminders to tell me to trust only yourself and your family because you really cant trust anyone else for sure (at least my experience)

Shaun white- Shaun White is a famous snowboarder and the mountain I have a house at a race was held there and I saw Shaun White

Sneakers- represents again freedom and having rights

Ying yang- represents keeping your life balanced

My philosophy is staying happy, finding true love, and staying in love. Family is so important, the way you treat your family and the times you spend together. Always staying busy with things you love to do, do that for yourself but also so you don’t have time for drama or anything to bring you down. Stay positive, be nice to everyone and treat people the way you want to be treated. Eliminate people in your life who don’t deserve you. Sometimes your friends don’t last forever but your family does. Treat people equal and do what makes you happy, don’t try and please everyone because at the end of the day all that really matters is if you were/are happy. Fight for things and learn from mistakes, no one is perfect.
