My philosophy

Everyone in this world is searching for something of this world which will bring them pleasure and thus happiness. For me, “Love” is always a right answer and the correct way. Love can make us feel as warm as a burning sun, love completes us, and make us feel we have someone in our corner who supports us even with our flaws. We shall love our neighbors as we love ourselves. We should see everyone as our family and help each other because we are all human beings on this world, and treating people the way we like to be treated. If we start loving each other as we love ourselves, we are bringing the greatest joy to the world and making the world a wonderful place to live. In addition, we need to show one’s love in time, lest when the people that are important to you pass away or something bad happen to them, you will realize that it is too late to love. Therefore, you need to love others as you love yourself in time in order to live in a happy world.

Artist statement

I based my collage on my personal philosophy which is to love others as you love yourself”. The place where I heard about this sentence for the first time was in a Christian church, so I putted many crosses around the both hands on the bottom right corner, to represent that I got this idea from a Christian church. Next to the hands, there is a target with a number ten in the center and two hearts next to it, which means love is an exactly right thing to do. A little black palm on the target illustrates the way people want to search for the right answer, which is love. A half part of the target is earth and there is an airplane with a smiling face, is the meaning of bringing love to each other is also bringing a greatest joy and happiness for the earth. I also putted some items to represent love, such as a couple, a family photo and the holding hands. The colorful lines and the person coming out from a smiling face’s mouth tells people that when you get the answer and love others as yourself, you will also get the happiness and a colorful life. That’s also why in the background, there are lots of colorful flowers. The clock reminds people to love in time, lest it is too late.
