My philosophy states that traveling, being aware of your surroundings and others, and following current events leads to a successful and happy life. In my collage the main piece, the eye, symbolizes awareness because we need to keep our eyes open and pay attention to our changing biosphere. The white of the eye is clippings from current event news articles, on the left side the text reads about the election for our president and correlates to how the left side of the brain works, and on the right the text reads about pop culture and art and correlates to how the right side of the brain works. In the iris are all of the pieces that relate directly to me and travel, like the pictures of Grand Cayman and Montauk. The rest of the pictures signify modern things in society and in my life that I enjoy like snorkeling and diving. In this collage I really wanted to show the dynamics of the many things that make up our lives.
