My philosophy is to live your life unplanned, to go out in
life unguided by these setup lives where growing up in. You don’t need to be the
richest or the most powerful. Our lives seem to be predetermined since we where
babies. Most everyone grows up believing that once they are out of school they
will find a job right away then get married and have kids. But why does it have
to work that way, isn’t there more to life then going to school in order to get
a job and make money to survive. Modern society only believes that in order to
be thought of as a successful human being you must have a lot of money, be a
ceo, or Politian. In school if you’re not the brightest you wont be expected to
be successful in life. Now if you become something like a fisherman or plumber
people don’t think of you as an intelligent person or maybe as valuable. This
is not true though everyone’s role in society differs and is just as important.
We can’t loose sight of the fact that having a smaller job is also a fundamental
value to everyone else. Artistic statement: At the bottom of my collage you see
a baby an adult orangutan and a family of polar bears. This is showing the
stages of most human and animal’s lives. Behind the baby is celestial space depicting
that as a young child you are very open minded. Moving on to the orangutan and
polar bears there are many words behind them showing the knowledge and thoughts
that will be put into your head over time. At the center of the collage is a
road with white silhouettes of people walking on it. These people are all walking the same
direction showing how everyone follows the same pattern of life. To the left of
this is a black silhouette of a person walking on a different path. This person
is bringing up the question about there being a different way of living our
lives than what everyone else is doing. To the left of the road is a spider.
The spider with its fangs out represents the human mind being poisoned and
hidden from the truth of what is really important in our lives today. At the
top of the collage is a city, giving the feeling of power and the good life.
Hard working people showing that without them the image of a city would not be
possible surround the city.
