Final collage

My philosophy

My philosophy is not about having material things; it’s more about own things nobody else can have. When I’ll die I want to think about the past as something wonderful. That means I have had fun, I was mostly happy and have had people who loved me and cared about me. To reach all this you should always treat somebody how they should treat you. You want people to be friendly to you, so be friendly to them.
Besides I think you should live every day, as it would be your last. Don’t hide in your bed and do nothing because then you will never see how happiness and fun feel like. You will never discover the world and meet new people.
The most important aspect of my philosophy is to be thankful. That, my parents didn’t teach me, that I had to discover myself. I am thankful that I am healthy and don’t have any diseases. I am thankful that some family members got a second chance in their life. I am thankful for letting me meet and establish a relationship to people I now love.
I know that there will never be a perfect time in my life but I also know that it has to be like this. When somebody is sick or dies in my life I know that I will see them in heaven and I know that they are now released from their pain.
That’s my philosophy and what I believe in, even when it won’t make sense for some people.

Artist statement

I have done 4 different collages because I wanted to divide my philosophy into different topics. In the first collage, the colorful flower should stand for the life and the two hands that are holding the flower for my parents who raised me. I made the background black so the colorful flower sticks out more. So when I look back into my past I want to say that I have had a wonderful life. That’s what the flower should express. In the second collage you can see two persons who are having fun and are driving somewhere without having a goal because they just don’t care. They just want to have fun because they only live once. I put a setting sun on the horizon because it should stand for the life, which ends after a while, and you have no possibility to do anything afterwards because it’s dark. The third collage is standing for travelling because I love travelling and seeing the world and it is part of my philosophy. Discovering the world and everything you see. So I put the world in the center of the paper and around monuments of several cities and in the background several maps of the world. The fourth collage stands for everything what is in my mind and is happening in the world. So there is war even when I am against it, but there is also love, happiness, fun, and luck. So life has two sides, a dark and sad one and a good one and they’ll always be mixed in your life because in my opinion life has to be even. People can’t have too much luck but not too much bad luck either.

  3. I like all your collages, but the collages I like the most are the second and the third one, because you was very inventive how you put the different pictures together and I like your background with the maps and the foreground with the earth of the third collage.
