Aries's collage

ARTIST STATEMENT
In my college, I used several images about death. Maybe some people are afraid of death. But in my opinion, death is not frightened at all. It’s a period that everyone must experience. Death urges you to live your life actively and to think what you will leave for the world. To live your life actively, to do meaningful things, to live everyday like tomorrow is the end of world. I’m not kidding. Pressure makes you feel stressful and you will be pushed to make progress. I selected some images about how to live your life actively. The image of children in Africa, they’re starving and we have to help them. I hope every child in Africa can smile happily as the child on the right corner. I hope there is no war in the world any more and everyone loves peace.

Philosophy paragraph   II
Aries Kan
In my opinion, life is like a puzzle. The process of our life is the process we completing the puzzle. There are lots of pieces of puzzles and we need to find them and put them in the right position.
Each piece of them is unique as each puzzle is unique. The same as your life, no one lives the same life as someone else in the world. You are unique and different from others. To complete your puzzle, you need different pieces. Such as love, friendship, courage etc. To get the pieces, you have to own the personalities. If you want to get love, you should love others then you are loved.  Do meaningful things instead of wasting your time; Do your best to serve others; Respect others then you will be respected.
Life is long if you live a meaningful life; Life is short if you are wasting your time. To live or to waste your time, it’s up to you. No one can make the choice for you, as you have to live your own life.
So, from now on, try your best to serve others. You can visit Africa during your summer vocation; to see what a poor life people are living. They’re hungry but they don’t have enough food to eat; they’re thirsty but they don’t have access to clean water.  We are lucky that we have enough food to eat, have clean water to drink. Compared to these people who live in Africa and the Mid East, your life is much better than theirs.
Stop complaining and spend the time to doing meaningful things. Start giving thanks, to be grateful to your parents who raised you up. To be grateful to everything which makes you happy or cheers you up.
To do everything you can to contribute the society. To do everything you can to serve others. Then when you leave the world, you won’t feel regret about anything. As Pavel Korchagin said in How the steel was tempered, "Life is valuable, each person only has one chance to live his life. Life should be spent in this way: when the recollection of events when he does not regret the wasted years, not because of mediocrity and shame. When he was dying, he was able to say, 'my whole life and all my energy had been dedicated to the finest cause in the world - the struggle for the liberation of mankind.' "
It doesn’t matter whether your contribution is great or common. What counts is that whether you made the contribution or not. You are great if you build schools for poor children but people also appreciate you if you donate books to poor children.
Don’t waste time and live meaningfully, you will feel your life is full of love.
