My Personal Philosophy
My personal philosophy is that you should fulfill your dreams and your missions in life. If you simply just think about doing something, rather than actually doing it, your life will not have much purpose. You could be trapped inside of yourself for your whole life, until you realize what you missed out on. Regret is one of my least favorite emotions to experience. I think people should take risks, because even the bad mistakes can shape who you are in the future. I’d rather make a fool of my self than regret not trying. When you let go of your boundaries, you will be able to do more for yourself, and for other people, which will help you to become happier in the long run.
Artist’s Statement
The main theme of my collage is that dreaming and doing are two different things. It means that you should fulfill your dreams and your missions in life. If you simply just think about doing something, rather than actually doing it, your life will not have much purpose. You could be trapped inside of yourself for your whole life, until you realize what you missed out on. The left side represents everything that is trapped up in my brain, whether it’s technology, books, fantasies and dreams. It has black glitter to represent darkness, and an egg to show that I am still trapped in my shell. The right side represents opportunity, and those everything that could happen like marriage, jobs, or a place to live. It shows a girl coming out of an egg, which represents coming out of your shell. I used gold leaf to represent happiness, and gold is a pleasing color. I drew a tree to represent me branching out. The drawings on the right side of my face represent freedom, which is why I have some crazy deigns. The drawings on the left are very ordered and represent confinement. I wanted to show everything that could happen if I left my inhibitions behind, and took some risks.
