Artist Statement:
In my photo I portray the idea of independence through me
standing alone in the attic of an abandoned house. My body language shows that
I am relaxed because I do not mind being alone; it gives me a sense of serenity,
and puts me in a place of thought. The Pikachu backpack I’m wearing represents
that you always carry your childhood with you throughout your life, good or
bad. It influences your choices. These are the choices you have to make alone,
with no help from anyone else.
